Quick Hat – Free Crochet Hat Pattern

quick hat free crochet hat pattern

We’ve all been there. One single skein/ball of yarn that we don’t know how we ended up having in our stash and therefore not able to obtain more so that we can make a big project with it. One skein of yarn we really like, but we either have to find yarn to compliment the single ball or make a quick project with the little bit we’ve been blessed with. I chose to make a quick project, a hat pattern I’ve had in my repertoire for a long time. So here is the free crochet hat pattern. Enjoy!

The design is very simple, I created it several years ago. Here is a very young Bubbles wearing her Mommy’s hat.

I used worsted* (see below) weight yarn, it took less than the one skein I had, but because I didn’t even have a label I would have a tough time even estimating how much yarn it took.

I used a U.S. size H hook.

Instructions are American crochet terms.

round one: ch 3, 11 double crochet in third chain from hook, join with sl st in top of two beginning chain (11 dc and starting chain = 12 dc all ch 2 at beginning of rounds count as a dc)
